Questions? we have answers
What exactly am I joining?
You are joining the early creation of three single malt whisky barrels, called Cask #001, #002 & #003.
This means you are reserving future access to a whisky that is being made today and will only be ready after it has fully matured.
It is a pre-sale of a future product.
How many bottles can one cask produce?
A 110-liter whisky barrel does not produce a fixed number of bottles.
After years of maturation, natural evaporation (“the angel’s share”) and dilution before bottling, a cask of this size typically yields approximately 120 to 150 bottles (700 ml).
The final number depends on aging time, climate, evaporation, and bottling strength, and can only be confirmed once the whisky is fully matured and ready to bottle.
For this reason, all bottle quantities are estimates, not guarantees.
What will I receive once the cask has finished maturing?
Once the maturation period of the cask is complete and the whisky is bottled, you will be entitled to redeem a proportional share of the final bottled whisky, based on your participation.
The cask is divided into 30 equal participation units.
If you hold one unit, you will be entitled to 1/30 of the total number of bottles produced from that cask.
If you hold more than one unit, your entitlement increases proportionally.
The exact number of bottles can only be confirmed at bottling, as it depends on natural factors such as evaporation (“the angel’s share”), aging time, and final bottling strength.
For this reason, allocations are calculated as a proportion of the final output, not as a fixed or guaranteed bottle count.
Is the whisky already made?
It is a new make spirit.
The new make spirit is produced and filled into an oak barrel at the beginning of the process.
From that moment on, it becomes a whisky in maturation.
How many casks are there?
For this release, three casks are the only promoted in the pre-sale.
Everything on this page refers specifically to this casks.
If you join, we can continue producing more barrels. That is the whole purpose of this pre-sale.
How long does maturation take?
Whisky does not have a fixed maturation date, but these first casks will be matured for three years.
Where are your products manufactured?
The whisky is produced by John Cook Distillery located in Patagonia (Chile), following a small-batch, artisanal approach, with a strong focus on transparency and process.
Is there any risk during maturation?
Yes. As with all whisky maturation, there are natural variables.
Time, climate, wood, and evaporation can affect volume, timing, and final character.
There are no guarantees — only careful stewardship.
Can I get my bottles earlier?
No. Bottles are only available once the whisky has fully matured and been bottled.
There are no early releases.
Is this an investment?
No.
This is not:
- An investment product
- A financial instrument
- A promise of profit or financial return
It is a pre-sale of future whisky.
Do I own part of the cask or the distillery?
No.
Participation does not grant ownership of:
- The cask
- The distillery
- Any financial or legal asset
It grants a right to future product redemption, subject to the natural aging process.
Can I resell my participation?
There is no official secondary market.
Any transferability, if allowed, is explained clearly at the time of purchase.
